Mark MacNeill is counsel at Brauti Thorning LLP. Mark's practice is focused on personal injury law. In addition to representing injured persons and their families, Mark is counsel for the Motor Vehicle Accident Claims Fund.
As a former practicing Occupational Therapist before his call to the bar, Mark has a working knowledge of the problems faced by injured persons trying to recover and the challenges they face when seeking compensation. With a specialization in Motor Vehicle Accident related injuries arising from the negligence of others, a significant portion of Mark's practice relates to advancing claims on behalf of his clients for Statutory Accident Benefits that may have been wrongfully denied by insurance companies. Mark also acts for the Minister of Finance in similar matters as well as priority disputes with Insurance Companies.
Mark has a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from Dalhousie University and a Master of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he studied work related injuries and return to work issues. For eleven years prior to his call to the bar, Mark practiced as an Occupational Therapist in both Canada and the United States. In addition to his Law degree from Dalhousie (2002), Mark also holds an MBA in International Business. Mark was called to the Ontario Bar in 2003. Mark has completed the Advanced Trial Advocacy Course at York University.
